Same- and Different-Sex Couples Navigating Work Life

modern-family-babysitting-the-little-foreign-girlThere are differences and there are similarities in the way same-sex and different-sex couples navigate things like chores and child care responsibilities.

This Thursday, Families and Work Institute will be offering a glimpse of what those are with the release of its much anticipated Modern Families: Same- and Different-Sex Couples Negotiating at Home study at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ headquarters in New York.

It’s a national survey of same- and different-sex couples, and it offers insights into how couples share household responsibilities; how gender and the size of paychecks impacts those decisions; and how satisfied couples are with the arrangements they’ve crafted.

Andrew Solomon, author of Far from the Tree: Parents, Children and the Search for Identity and LGBT rights activist, will be speaking at this release event, as well as the Institute’s researchers and other thought leaders looking to create better work-life harmony for all.

Stay tuned and follow the #ModernFamilies hashtag to find out the latest on Thursday morning.
